IRFC, YES Bank, ITC shares top value charts; Tata Steel, NTPC stocks log high volumes

In terms of turnover in today’s afternoon session, shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd. (IRFC), Bharti Airtel, and Jio Financial Services were among the top scrips. Around 14.22 lakh shares of Bharti Airtel traded, resulting in a turnover of Rs 171.45 crore on the BSE, while 143.91 lakh shares of IRFC changed hands, accounting for the highest turnover of Rs 199.42 crore. 43.82 lakh shares of Jio Financial Services’ scrip crossed hands on the BSE, resulting in a record transaction of Rs 150.19 crore.

In today’s afternoon session, YES Bank shares and NHPC stock both had significant turnovers of Rs 126.29 crore and Rs 98.68 crore, respectively.

The afternoon session on the NSE had the greatest value (turnover) for the following stocks: ITC, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, BPCL, and SBI. Private sector lender HDFC Bank finished in second place with shares traded on the exchange valued at Rs 1628.21 crore, while ITC shares witnessed the highest value of shares moved at Rs 1916 crore.

Shares of SBI, the state-owned institution, were traded on the NSE today for a total value of Rs 1289.21 crore. On the NSE, shares of private lender Axis Bank had a high value of Rs 1,271.22 crore. On Friday, shares of the oil marketing business BPCL were exchanged for a total of Rs 1228 crore.

Shares of Tata Steel, ITC, NTPC, PowerGrid, and ONGC led the chart in terms of volume on NSE.

A large number of 4.51 crore shares of ITC were traded on the NSE today. In late afternoon trade, the FMCG stock was up 1.69% at Rs 426.75.

Third on the volume table, with 3.06 crore shares traded on the NSE, was the power generator NTPC. On Friday, the stock was down 1.93% at Rs 261. PowerGrid and ONGC, the other two companies, had volumes on the NSE of 2.76 crore and 2.39 crore shares, respectively.

Benchmark indexes, however, were expected to conclude the week down. Nifty dropped 114 points to 22,032, while the Sensex dropped 381 points to 72,713. BSE-listed companies’ market capitalization decreased to Rs 378.54 lakh crore.
