Three aircraft arrive in Jamnagar, a seaside city in Gujarat, each day. On March 1, the number increased fortyfold as celebrities, IT titans, and business tsars flocked to Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding celebrations. Anant Ambani is the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, the richest man in Asia.
Director DK Singh reports that between February 26 and March 4, Jamnagar airport handled 430 domestic and 110 international airplane movements. According to data gathered and examined by India Today’s Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) team, at least 341 non-scheduled flights were handled by the dual-use airport between mid-February 27 and mid-March 4.
According to Flightradar24, the greatest number of private business jet and big aircraft charter arrivals and departures during the monitored period was reported on March 1 (117). These flights were followed by 38 on February 29; 51 on March 2; and 81 on March 3. The 341 flights consisted mostly of private business planes.
International visitors were carried by at least 38 flights between Jamnagar and various locations in France, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Italy, Oman, and Saudi Arabia. Four international flights from Paris, three each from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and two each from London and Milan arrived in Jamnagar.
A variety of Bombardier Challenger, Bombardier Global, Bombardier Global Express, Dassault Falcon, Embraer Legacy, Embraer ERJ, Embraer Phenom, Gulfstream, Cessna 560XL, and Hawker 800XP aircraft are among the private aircraft sighted at Jamnagar.
HEAVY RUSH
The Jamnagar domestic airport, which received international status for ten days on March 5, seems unable to cope with the massive influx of travelers. Before receiving permission to land, numerous private and chartered aircraft had to linger in the air close to Jamnagar for nearly half an hour. Due to Jamnagar’s extremely low parking capacity, planes were routed to adjacent airports in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Rajkot, and other places.
At least five Reliance Industries-affiliated aircraft were used to transport visitors to Jamnagar, the Ambani family’s hometown, from Mumbai and other locations in India. During the time under observation, the jets made 67 shorties.
Furthermore, it seems that narrow-body passenger planes like as the Boeing 737-75C, Embraer E175 and Airbus A320 were leased from AIX Connect (formerly Air Asia), Star Air and SpiceXpress airlines to carry passengers between Jamnagar and Delhi and Mumbai. These aircraft can accommodate between 78 and 132 people in seats.
Up to 38 international passenger aircraft trips were operated by nonscheduled planes. According to tracking data, an Airbus A319-115 aircraft conducted five flights between Jamnagar and Paris and Milan.
Due to the high-profile nature of their passengers, up to 119 of the observed flights did not disclose flight information, such as their call sign, origin, or destination.
International celebrities who arrived in the city on private jets included music superstar Rihanna, former US president Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and founder of Meta Mark Zuckerberg.
